Chalkies Basketball Club has a rich history rooted in the collaboration of educators from Drouin Ripplebrook. Initially comprising solely of senior teams, the club's journey towards completeness began in the early 1980s, marked by increased community involvement and the introduction of junior teams. At that time, Chalkies stood as the sole basketball club representing Drouin. Our early home courts included the original Bellbird Park court and the three-quarter size court at Warragul Regional College. As the club evolved, so did its geographical identity, eventually transitioning into a prominent Warragul-based institution. This transformation was a testament to the dedication and vision of successive committee members, who steered Chalkies towards its current status as a thriving basketball club within the wider Warragul community.
